About the startup
Food loss and waste translates also into economic losses for farmers and other stakeholders in the food value chain and into higher prices for consumers, both of which affect food security by making food less accessible for the poorest and most vulnerable groups, mostly women and children.
Most of our competition only have an online presence, but our impressive franchise model, Agriple Stores, gives us the benefits of having physical stores without having to pay for them or run them.
Also we employ predictive analytics to determine demand and consumer behaviour, enabling us plan adequately. This means that the actionable data we have collected from our users over a period of time can help us determine what farm produce users will be needing most at any time.
The COVID situation means that movement is restricted in a lot of places to curb the spread of the virus, this is where we come in. We take up the responsibility of delivering farm produce straight from our farmers to hotels, resellers, eateries, food processors, etc to make sure that they get what they need to power their businesses where they need them.
Helping minimize the movement of people from place to place in search of food and farm produce to buy is also a good way of helping fight the pandemic. This is what we are achieving by making it possible for farm produce to be bought through our platform and delivery made with very minimal contact.
